I know a lot of elves or basically all of them, support Only 13. I always wonder what is this only 13 for? What is the point actually? I am also a fan of Super Junior but I do not really get the thing of Only 13.
Firstly, did Henry and Zhou Mi say that they are joining Super Junior? The Answer is NO. They did not even say, “Hey, I am joining Super Junior! I am going to make the whole salaries to split into 14/15 portions!” They didnt!
Moreover, when they introduce themselves, they always say they are from SUPER JUINOR- M! Furthermore, Henry and Zhou Mi joined Super Junior- M because they can help Super Junior to break into the Chinese market! I know some might say, Henry’s chinese isnt very good either BUT he knows cantonese. If you happen to watch the interview of Suju-M in Hongkong, you can see Henry spoke Cantonese and the reporter or whoever was kinda impressed. See? This helped to leave a good impression of them in the media.
Secondly, not only Henry and Zhou Mi are suffering from the Only 13 situation, even other Super Junior-M members are suffering too!
Do you all know that Ryeowook cried for Henry when the netizens and Elves were bashing Henry?
Do you all know how did Henry and Zhou Mi feel when they went to fan meeting and saw some evles holding Only 13 banner?
Do you really believe in Only 13? Or isit just because some evles started saying Super Junior Only 13 and you wanted to show that you are a loyal elf so you also followed them?
Do you feel that it is really necessary to have Only 13? Many of you are saying that Suju-M breaks Super Junior but have you thought of it, even if there is no Suju-M and there is only the whole Super Junior, what are they going to do in Korea?
Kangin, Heechul, Leeteuk, Sungmin, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Yesung, Kibum all have their own shows, Radio Programmes and acting career when they no need to perform.
BUT, what about the other members? Are they going to sit at home and rot at home? All the other members are earning money but they are just sitting at home? So, isnt a sub-group better for them? rather then they stay at home doing nothing.
Thirdly, like I have mentioned previously, Suju-M helps to raise the popularity of Super Junior in the chinese market and it certainly does! Before Super Junior-M debuted, not many people around me know Super Junior but after Suju-M debuted my sister knows them! Soon, quite number of her friends knows about Suju too! In addition, they ranked no.7 in the Chinese Music Chart. See? This really helps Suju
as well as the members to get well-known in Asia!
Personally, I think that people supporting Only 13 are just plainly selfish. You are trying to prevent more people who do not listen to K-pop to know Super Junior. You are trying not to let other members to earn more money and lastly, you are
HURTING the feelings of Henry and ZhouMI.
Now, if you watch Super Junior-M’s
video clips, you will see how Zhou Mi and Henry were so cautious of what they were saying. Why? Because they do not wish to get any more of the hurtful and harsh bashings from evles!
Also, i have somemore things to add, the other Super Junior did not say that they do not support Henry and Zhou Mi
what. Thus, why are you all making such a big fuss over it?
Oh, I know, some of you would say if they say they do not support Suju-M, they would be punished or scolded.
Let me ask you something, do you know them personally? Even if you know a lot about them, DO YOU KNOW WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? Do you know whether they support Suju-M or not? Therefore, why are you ASSUMING they do not support Suju-M?

ELF does not support the addition of members because of various reasons. As many of you can already see, SM Entertainment, is like a mastermind behind some of the most popular artists of South Korea. Yes, without SM, there wouldn’t be HOT, Shinhwa, FTTS, BoA, Super Junior, TVXQ, etc. SM is trying to make their artists popular ALL over Asia so that is why he pushes their artists into the Chinese and Japanese market. SM is the Korean version of Johnny Entertainment of Japan (not kidding you!)
SuJu was a rotational group when they first debuted in 2005, under the name Super Junior 05. Back then, they weren’t very popular and was deemed unsuccessful because of the amount of people in the group. Like that Japanese girl group, Morning Museum, the members were to “graduate” and new members were to be added to this group. After the Kyuhyun (13th member) debuted, the group became a permanent group and the 05 was dropped in their name. ELF (their fanclub) was also created after the addition of Kyuhyun. ELF stands for EverLasting Friends and the official color became pearl sapphire blue. We are not ‘elves’ -_-. The group became really popular after their hit song, U, which top charts for a really long time and the boys managed to win many awards from the song. After the success of the song, many bad things happened to the group…such as the death of Donghae’s father, Heechul’s accident, attack of anti’s, April 19th accident, etc. Those things brought the members closer to each other. And when people say that people in the group can’t sing, it really hurts. Pretty much all the members can sing, except Kibum. They are not the best singers but they try. If people took the time to dig up clips of the boys singing, you’ll see that they can sing. Being in such a large group is a disadvantage to them because they have a lesser chance of showing off all their skills and talents.
Rotating members means that the older members will leave the group and newer members will join the group. The newer members will not able to experience everything the 13 members have gone through and accomplished in a short amount of time. They’ve cried together, laughed together, everything! Putting new members in the group will mean that the newer members will be under a title that they didn’t make popular and proved successful, despite being a big group. The newer guys will be given credit for something they did not put time, sweat, blood, life, and hard work into. Yes, breaking into the Chinese market is a good thing but doesn’t mean they need more Chinese speaking members to accomplish that. Look how popular they already are with just Hankyung! Rumors have it that Henry isn’t fluent in Chinese. What use is that?! Also, from the clips I’ve seen of Henry, it’s the same in every clip…violin playing while dancing…even in the Don’t Don MV! He was discovered in Toronto, Canada in the 2006/2007 auditions. That’s a very short amount of time for vocal training. Also, supporting the addition of a new member means supporting the future additions of 100 or 200 SuJu members. If you have been a SM-artist fan for a very long time, you can see that SM never keeps their words. Lee Soo Man (the mastermind behind everything) said that Henry and Zhou Mi will only be involved in the China activities and not the Korean ones. From past experiences…that statement is false. Henry and Zhou Mi will be a part of SuJu. What I’m thinking is that LSM is only saying that so the fans can feel happy for now until that time comes when he’s gonna announce that the two boys of SJ-M will be part of SuJu. If he sticks to his words, the group will split up into their sub-groups…meaning all the members will be split up. SM is doing this because LSM has a fetish for money…really! Money is his life!
Singers in Korea don’t make a lot of money. A while ago, I watched a documentary on MTV about TLC (an American girl group) and they said they made $0.08 per person per album. That was probably like 10 years ago and they sold millions copies of their albums. So think of Korea and their music industry. Last year, SJ sold about 20 000 copies of their 2nd album. Most of the money is given back to SM, some saved for investments, some for future concerts, music productions and they also have to split the money among the members. Also, a chunk of their money is used to invest of the current trainees being trained under SM. Also, FTTS said that artists don’t make a lot of money but they “look at SuJu and TVXQ and feel a lot better” (quoted from Brian on Ya Shim Man Man, search it up on youtube) You ask why SuJu can’t quit SM?! Because they are under a contract. They also have limited freedom of what they can and cannot say to the outside world. In the past, Shinhwa was trying to leave SM but was ended being used by the company. SM said that they couldn’t use the name ‘Shinhwa’ if they were to leave the company. In the end, Shinhwa won the battle and moved to Good Entertainment.
The ‘One Fan One Stock’ Campaign is a campaign set up by the fans. They are buying stocks of SM so they can be given a chance to be heard as not just fans but as consumers of SM. This campaign also means that the fans are investing on the boys. But the fans have stopped that campaign. They are now planning to boycott not just SJ-M but also SJ. They might stop their membership as an ELF and stop buying their products. Boycott means that album won’t sell so that SJ-M will be deemed a failure, which then means that SM will stop doing future activities with the group. Examples of evidence would be former groups under SM…like MILK, Blackbeat, Isak N Jiyeon. SM will not waste money on something that doesn’t sell. ELF don’t hate Henry or Zhou Mi. We only hate the addition of members. In fact, I admire Henry for his cool violin skills and Zhou Mi for his singing…and in my opinion, I don’t think it’s not like “WOW! Awesome! I love his voice!”
I might come back and add more stuff to this page (which I can but I don’t feel like it at the moment)
I hope a lot of people understand things a little better. I’m not trying to get people to support the ONLY13 movement because everyone has their own opinions and views on everything.

Personally, I’m sick of all this ‘Only 13′ business. I mean, I see what the fans are getting at, but really. Henry and Zhoumi are apart of Super Junior M. That’s all. Besides which, would it really matter that much if they joined Super Junior? All this talk about, ‘reaping awards they didn’t earn’ makes sense, but come on. No one treated Kyuhyun like that when he joined Super Junior. What’s so different about Zhoumi and Henry joining a sub-group? In all honesty, I feel really bad for Zhoumi and Henry. It’s not fair to them and it’s quite rude.
By the way, it IS kind of late to be posting something like this, but the subject of ‘Only 13′ has been bugging me.

In some tv news Siwon said that next year Suju M will return to Korea to promote their new album and then, what about Zhou Mi and Henry?

I kinda feel sorry for Henry and Zhou Mi, since they didn’t really do anything mean or detestable, and they have like anti-ish fans already… I don’t really see what’s so bad about them joining Super Junior M, and besides, why would the old members leave if they join Super Junior? I’m kind of confused too… Why would Super Junior split up into their subgroups just because Henry and Zhou Mi join?

I wouldn’t care if they wanted only 13 if they weren’t so rude/cruel to Zhou Mi and Henry.

I understand the reasoning but not the treatment.
I’m a big TVXQ fan and if for some reason SM wanted to add to the group I admit, I would worried and upset. But I would at least give the new member a chance. I may not really want a new member but I would treat them with respect and support the group “AS A WHOLE”.
It makes me mad and I feel for Zhou Mi and Henry.
You make so many good points in this.
They are only in SJ-M and not SUJU.
But even if they’re not, They are still apart of the SM Family and their Family is very fond of them.

umm..even after reading all these comments I havn’t changed my mind about ONLY13.
I adore Henry and Zhoumi’s talents, and I firmly believe that they will have a bright future wherever they go to, except for joining SJ.
Because after all these years SJ’s 13 have experienced so much, and formed a lovely warm harmony as a family; The language barrier will also block the two from a fluent and deep intercourse with the others– thus new members won’t be able to attain a same share of this faith and love, or the match and coordination between them even if the 13 give enough care and attention to them. This is also not fair to the two.
Well you may say HanGeng has language barrier too, but in fact his Korean skills was pretty good during audition.(Now it’s been 8 years since his audition so you can imagine how well his Korean has been. Listening to H&Z’s Korean songs I can tell they had pretty awkward pronounciations–compared to what Hangeng did at first–though I don’t know Korean at all)
But I still believe that the firm relationship between them is not something outsiders can easily break in no matter what language they speak.
Another reason is that SJ has really got enough members… Yesung has always been complaining about not getting enough exposures. In most of their songs not everyone will be able to get a solo line. And yea..they earn really little even though they look so successful. We just don’t want to split their tiny exposures/earnings into even smaller portions…
Above are my own opinions. I’m a new fan for SJ for merely..2 weeks. Yes only 2 weeks, so I’m not like an “authority” ELF that knows a lot about SJ. I’ve never read any articles about supporting ONLY13 or Anti-H&Z, yet maybe because I’m new and havn’t been affected by other people’s opinions, I think I’m pretty independent and neutral on this issue.
Poor Henry and Zhoumi, you two are just puppets of SM.. Hope you two can have a better settlement–like to form a new group with the other trainees?

I’ve actually tried to figure out what they were thinking, so i asked one of the Only13 to explain it… she said they were destroying the purity of Super Junior -_-

Bravo! I totally agree with you. I will forever support Suju as 15 members, and not 13. I do not believe in “Only 13″, I think it’s useless (especially with the chanting and all) because Henry and Zhou Mi are not going anywhere. Chanting “13 only” will only strain the E.L.F’s vocal chords. I love Henry AND Zhou Mi. Fighting!

Very well said mynamjachingu!! I’m also a fan of Super Junior and I was surprised to know that such controversy existed. I wonder how much pain Henry and ZhouMi suffered from this. And I’m pretty sure that if new member/s would be added, the original 13 would welcome them whole-heartedly. I just don’t get the point of all the boycotting and bashing of E.L.F. to the two young guys. Seriously, do they really have to go that far?

I’m in love with Super Junior, as much as E.L.F does, I’m sure about that. But seriously, what’s with the “ONLY 13” thing?
About Henry, upon watching all the shows and interviews, he is one of the cutest and innocent boy I’ve seen in my life. Furthermore, he’s a very talented guy who can play well both violin and piano, he has great voice and lots of other talents too. Just tell me, have you ever seen a guy playing violin while moonwalking and also other dance moves? There’re guys like that, I know, but not so many, that’s what makes Henry special.And really, “what is more pure then Henry’s cheeks?”
And Zhou Mi? He has a wonderful voice. He has also won many competitions before. I have to admit I didn’t really like him at first since he looks kind of like Siwon but the more I look at him, the more I see that he has his own unique features. He also writes songs. He has captured the heart of many people with his voice, because they chose to listen to him. Why don’t you just give him one chance to prove how useful he can be when he joins SuJu? He can help a lot.

Are you sure about that? China’s population was 1,330,044,544 in July 2008 est. Hankyung is very cool, but he’s just 1/1,330,044,544 and even if we also count others members, they’ll just be 13/1,330,044,544. Maybe if they will be able to break into chinese market’, but that will take quite amount of time. Not to mention chinese is a very popular language in the world. So instead of waiting and taking so much time to learn chinese, why can’t they just add more chinese members?

I love Super Junior. “Only 13″ is only for Super Junior. Elves can’t say that becoz Henry and Zhoumi were joining Super Junior-M, they will be joining Super Junior too! They didn’t even say that they were joining Super Junior, only the sub-group. Plus, they were hurting Henry and Zhoumi feelings, how will those fans of them feel!! I really hope that elves will accept Henry and Zhoumi as the member of Super Junior-M. Super Junior will always be “Only 13″ no more no less… and Super Junior-M will always be 7 members.
Pls, elves think about it, accept them will just make it simple.
